In indonesian Elok, means Beautiful, but also a jewel, and this very versital kit is just that. Easily used in cinema or hifi application.
Bass reflex speaker designed for 20 degrees off-axis listening (i.e. 10 degree toe-in). The MTM configuration allows this speaker to be used as a centre channel speaker as well as a left/right speaker in a stereo setup. Bass reflex was chosen to minimize cone movement in the resonant frequency area (though cone movement will be larger at very low frequencies). It also makes the design more versatile – should anyone prefer a closed box, it is easy to seal the port tube. The use of bi-wiring terminals makes it possible to use an external cross-over, which makes cross-over experiments much easier. The tweeter is offset to reduce diffration problems. Internal bracing is used to reduce cabinet wall vibrations. Possible modifications: Cross-over (optimize for left/right or centre – current design is a compromise), damping material, and port tuning.
